We've added an exciting new dimension to Tiocom. - Voice Posts. You can send a voice message to anyone in the world with Internet access. The listener does not need any special software - just to be using Internet Explorer or Netscape. It's fun - and easy. If you would like to send a voice message to someone you'll need to download the GSM Recorder - please read on below for download instructions. The program is small and takes less than 2 minutes to download.
Requirements to listen to audio files :
We avoided the use of plugins or audio players - nothing special is needed to listen. All you need is a PC capable of playing sound and a recent version of either Netscape or Internet Explorer with Java enabled. (this is pretty much your standard browser.... nothing special)
Requirements to post a voice message :
1. Windows 95 or NT
2. The GSM Sound Recorder : a program that you can download for free here. The recorder is small - takes about 2 minutes to download - and is easy to use. Click here to download the GSM Sound Recorder! Save the program to your hard drive, then use file manager to launch start the program by clicking on it (gsmrec.exe) when it's done. (Remember where you save it!)
You can read the Help File for Recording GSM sound files here - after you've downloaded the GSM Sound Recorder. Instructions are provided for using the program. It's very simple to use.

How do I listen to the audio?
When someone sends a voice message using the system the recipient received an email message directing them to visit a web site address. From that page a button will appear at the top of the post saying "Audio Message" - simply click this button and a small popup window will appear. Give it a second to start and the audio should start playing. You may need to turn your volume up (or down). The person who is getting the email message will also have the option of replying with a short message so that the sender knows that the voice message was received!
How do I stop the audio?
Wait for it to finish - or just close the small audio popup window and the audio will stop.
